Chef Info

My name is Paula Murphy, owner of Peaches Bakery & Deli.
I have been baking, cooking,
and catering for over ten years.
My love for baking and cake decorating has taking me to new heights over the past seven years since my husband was diagnosed with Celiac Sprue Disease. This is an intolerance
to a gluten protein found in wheat, rye and barley. This puts a new twist on eating and shopping, especially eating out. I am
a self taught gluten-free baker specializing in delicious breads, muffins, cakes, and, cookies.
Working as a cook in a local hospital I obtained experience in preparing special diets for diabetics and patients requiring low salt, lactose-free, and gluten-free meals. I take pride in creating nourishing menus that don't make people feel different from others due to dietary restrictions. My top priority is to provide appetizing healthy foods. Educating myself on food
and how it fuels our bodies has allowed me the opportunity to help those who find themselves in need of nutritional guidance.
As I moved on in the job market I found myself cooking in mass quantities and eventually, I was catering special events. Planning and catering meals is my hobby, I enjoy feeding people whether they have special dietary needs or not. I look forward to building a successful business and making many customers happy.
I am also a member and volunteer for a support group called "The Healthy Villi". I have been a member for the past four years and have found it to be a wealth of information to help support
a very manageable disease. Anyone newly diagnosed with Celiac Sprue disease can
visit their website for more information.
Additional information can be found from the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness website.
